Scrolls & Enchants

Success Rate

Not all scrolls that are used on a weapon will be applied successfully; in fact, many of the scrolls that you use on a weapon will end up in failure. The success rate of any scroll is dependent on two important numbers: your character's amount of wits, skills in Mage, the Maximum Enchants number, and the current amount of enchants on the weapon that you're trying to apply the scroll to. At the top of the page you'll find an enchant calculator where need to input the stats of the item you want to enchant. The outputs will display the results.

Weapons with Negative Base Skill
Does a weapon with negative base skill take the absolute value of the base skill or the actual base skill when a Luck or Glow scroll is applied to that weapon? The answer is that it'll take the absolute value of the base skill, meaning that the skill will increase instead of decrease. The statistical gains with Lucky or Glows are higher for weapons with higher negative base skill.

There are different types of gear enhancing items in the game that you can either collect or use on your equipment. No same scroll effect can be stacked on the same piece of equipment - with the exception of Enchant Scrolls/Sapphires. Each of those scroll will work only once if it's successful. In other words, don't bother using a Bless scroll on a weapon that already has the Bless attribute on it because it isn't going to do anything.

Items can no longer break when enchanting. You will get a message of the item having a "green tinge" on it when nearing its max and a text of "glowing purple" when you've reached max enchants.
